Karachi: 2 arraigned in embezzlement case
Karachi: Two suspects were arraigned on Saturday for allegedly making fake stamps and challans of a private bank and embezzling millions of rupees.
Mohammad Azeem and Mohammad Ameen were arrested on April 16 for allegedly embezzling millions of rupees by using fake stamps and challans of the bank.
Both the suspects were produced in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Choudhry Waseem Iqbal. The judge read out the charges against them. Both pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.
Adjourning the proceedings till August 26, the judge directed the prosecution to produce witnesses on the next date of hearing.
The investigation officer of the Federal Investigation Agency’s Crime Circle submitted the charge sheet in the open court. About 12 witnesses have been placed on the list to record their statements in the case.
