One TTP, 6 LI men killed in Tirah clashes
BARA: Four militants were killed in the ongoing clashes between the Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency on Monday while two LI men were shot dead by an anti-militant lashkar, tribal sources said.
The LI fighters armed with heavy weapons attacked the Seria hilltop to recapture it from the men of Tariq Afridi, head of the TTP for Khyber Agency and Frontier Region (FR) Kohat, who had occupied it a few days back.
The sources said three LI militants and one from TTP were killed in the fresh fighting. A commander of LI claimed that they had recaptured Seria hilltop but independent sources did not confirm this claim. The sources said that clashes continued between the two groups on Monday. Meanwhile, two LI militants were killed by the members of a tribal peace lashkar while riding a bicycle in the Muhammad Ali Chowk of Akakhel area in Bara Sunday night.
The slain were identified as Bismillah and Mansoor. In the same area, another militant of LI identified as Abid was killed in the shelling of the security forces.
