Haripur: Revenue officials booked
HARIPUR: The anti-corruption department on Tuesday registered a case against officials of revenue department for allegedly attesting fake mutation of land.
Anti-corruption police said Mushtaq Ahmad of village Kahal had purchased 3.5 kanal land from Rehmat Khan of Mirpur for Rs200,000 and the mutation was entered in the revenue record by halqa patwari Javed Khan in October last year on payment of Rs25,000.
However, after some time he was informed the land was not transferred in his name and another man, Khalid, was claiming its ownership.
When Mushtaq checked the record, he found that patwari Javed, teshildar Sanaullah and girdawar Sarfraz had illegally transferred the property rights in the name of Khalid showing the cost of deed as Rs500,000.
