Islamabad: Three gangs comprising 12 notorious criminals were busted here by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police recovering looted items worth Rs1.95 millions, gold ornaments, two motorbikes, one car, Kalashnikov, two pistols and electronic equipment from them.
According to the police spokesman, a team of the CIA Police headed by its in-charge Bashir Ahmed Noon arrested eight Afghan nationals and a proclaimed offender.
During the initial investigation, these nabbed persons confessed their involvement in 16 theft and dacoities in the city and police also recovered gold ornaments, two motorbikes, one car, Klashnikovs, two pistol and electronic equipment from them. They committed nine thefts and dacoities in the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station, four in Margalla and three in Koral police station.
Out of these nabbed persons, eight are Afghan nationals identified as Mir Baz, Rahim Ullah, Syed Karim, Abdul Hadi, Nizam Khan, Sher Dil, Karim Ullah, Abdul Wahab.
Other accused have been identified as Mushtaq, Vikram Masih residents of Narowal, Muhammad Riaz resident of Abdul Hakeem Khanewal, Khuram Ali Abbassi resident of Muzaffarabad.
