SHO refuses to register bike lifting case
PESHAWAR: The Paharipura Police here Sunday refused to register a case when unknown criminals lifted the motorbike of a doctor in Yousufabad locality. Dr Zakirullah had parked his motorbike (4352) at a plaza. However, he found his bike missing after his return. The doctor said that he approached the Paharipura Police Station but he was not only refused a first information report (FIR) in the case but also insulted by the station house officer (SHO).
“The SHO told me that you people park your vehicles on the roadside and later trouble police to lodge the FIR. The fact is that I had parked the bike inside the fences of the plaza,” said Zakirullah. The senior police officers have always claimed that each and every case is registered as the SHOs concerned have been directed to lodge FIRs by anyone who approaches them. However, sources said, still most of the automobile lifting, robberies and kidnapping cases were go unreported.
