Gang commits robbery at trader s house in Haripura
Rawalpindi: A gang of robbers, equipped with weapons, committed dacoity at the house of a trader in broad daylight in Haripura, a thickly-populated locality of the city falling in the jurisdiction of the Banni Police Station.
The intruders took away cash, in addition to gold ornaments and prize bonds, police said. Shaikh Tariq Mehmood, a tea merchant, lodged a complaint with the Banni Police Station, saying that four gunmen entered into his house in Haripura and held his family members, including women and children, at gunpoint. He said that the bandits also held hostage minors and looted Rs4 million cash, prize bonds worth Rs30,000 and over 45 tolas of gold valuing Rs3 million.
He said that the gunmen remained in the house for more than 45 minutes. The Banni Police have taken up the case and started investigation.
