Robbers rule the roost in Sialkot
SIALKOT: There was no let-up in the rising robbery, bike-snatching and theft incidents in the district, as criminals made off with five more motorcycles and a car, besides, looting gold ornaments, cash and electronics items in separate incidents.
The criminals remained on rampage in the district by targeting motorcyclists. In Olakh Awan-Muradpur, Sialkot tehsil, three armed men snatched a motorcycle (STL-3312), national and foreign currency worth Rs 0.3 million, mobile phone and other valuables at gunpoint from trader Muhammad Faiz.
Besides, thieves stole a new luxury car (LEB-2450) worth of Rs. 1.6 million of trader Sheikh Naeem from Hakim Khadim Ali Road Sialkot city.
In village Ranikey, Pasrur tehsil, three armed robbers snatched Rs 250,000, mobile phone and his motorcycle (STL-2280) in a broad daylight robbery near local Pulli. Pasrur Saddar police have registered a case with no arrest. Two unknown armed dacoits snatched Rs. 16,000, gold ornaments worth Rs 50,000 and mobile phones from Muhammad Arif and his wife in village Phalora.
Two dacoits snatched a motorcycle (STL-3350) and mobile phone from Tassawar Hussain near village Lala Hindi-Qila Kalarwala. They took away a motorcycle of Shaukat Ali from outside the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park. Thieves also stole a motorcycle (STL-6484) of another trader Ansar Ali from Factory Area. Three motorcyclists shot at a car driver Sakhawat Ali for offering resistance, besides, snatching Rs. 25,000 from him and his two friends on the Airport Road.
The injured driver was shifted to Sialkot hospital in critical condition. In Begowala, Sambrial tehsil, some armed men broke in the shop of pesticides dealer Malik Shabir and decamped with pesticides worth Rs 0.2 million.
