SIU arrests Lyari gangster nominated in 17 cases
KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a Lyari gangster from a government hospital. According to police, the accused, identified as Tahir alias Lamba, son of Abdul Khaliq, said to be associated with Rehman Dacait group, was arrested from one of the government hospitals.
Officials said that the Sindh government had announced a bounty of Rs 0.3 million for his arrest and added that since 2004 the accused was nominated in 17 criminal cases, including kidnapping for ransom, extortion and target killing. They further said that a case has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.
