Karachi: Kidnapped child recovered
Karachi: The Citizens–Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), with the collaboration of the police, recovered a boy and arrested three kidnappers with arms.
Khalid Noor, Senior Officer at the CPLC, said, Master Shahzad, 3, son of Muhammad Amin, was kidnapped on 21st June, 2011, from the jurisdiction of Awami Colony Police Station. His father is of Bengali origin and runs a General store in the area.
He added that the kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of Rs1.5 million for his release. The kidnappers stopped making calls to the family on June 28. Thereafter contact was again established on August 12.
A deal was finalised at Rs300,000, to be paid in Thari Mirwah, Khairpur Mirus on September 6. The joint team already stationed close to the place of ransom delivery managed to apprehend three accused; Karimdad, Najab Ali and Gul Muhammad while the ransom was being exchanged. Master Shahzad was recovered unhurt. One of the kidnappers Mehar Gopang escaped from the scene. Further investigation is under way.
