Lahore: Drug peddlers convicted
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ramzan on Monday awarded life imprisonment to six drug peddlers nominated in a narcotics case.
The court has also imposed a fine of total Rs. 470,060 on the convicts. In case of default in payment of the fine, convicts will face further jail term.
Drug traffickers namely Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Latif, Zulfiqar, Javaid, Anwar Bibi and Nazia Bibi were arrested in 2001 from Shama Colony area. Police had recovered 180 kilograms of hashish and 55 kilograms of opium from their possession. Later, an FIR was registered against them under Section 9c of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA).
