Peshawar: ATC acquits four terror suspects
PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday acquitted four terror suspects, arrested and charged in a car blast in which one person was killed, after the prosecution failed to prove the charges against them.
A complainant, Altaf Hussain, had registered a case against the four terror suspects including Irfan, Zakir, Islam and Shakir Islam at the Mattani Police Station, claiming that on June 26, 2011 the accused persons parked an explosives-laden car in front of his house and then detonated it. He claimed that his brother was killed in the blast. Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ibrahim Khan issued acquittal order of the terror suspects observing that the prosecution had failed to prove charges of terrorism against the accused.
