4 killed in different acts of violence, mishaps
KARACHI: Four people, including a woman, were killed in separate acts of violence and mishaps in different parts of the metropolis on Thursday. In first incident, a young man was shot dead at Aligarh Colony, Orangi Town within the limits of Orangi Town police station. Victim Moula Khan, 26, son of Badar Khan, was a resident of Islamia Colony, Qasba.
He was going home when unidentified armed men opened fire on him, resultantly he received a bullet in his chest and died on the spot. Police said they found Rs 23, 000 from his possession, adding that the victim had no affiliation with any political party, so a personal enmity might be the motive behind the incident. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities. No case was registered till filing the report. Separately, police found body of a young man from Malir River within the limits of Memon Goth police station. Victim Abid, 28, son of Alam Khan, was a resident of Memon Goth. He was taking bath in Malir River when he drowned in deep water. SHO Rao Khalid said the victim family took the body without completing legal formalities. In a road accident, an elderly woman was hit to death by a vehicle in Naseerabad within the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station. Khadija Bibi, 71, was a resident of PECHS Society. She was crossing a road near Water Pump Chowrangi, FB Area when a speeding vehicle knocked her and run away, resultantly she died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. Meanwhile, a man was electrocuted at his house in Jutt Line within the precincts of Brigade police station. Imtiaz, 26, was fixing an electric wire at his house in Jutt Line when he received an electric shock and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy and later handed over to his family.
