Abducted trader reaches home after six days
KARACHI: A trader of Shershah Junk Market, who was abducted six days back, reached home here on Friday. According to a report, owner of Karachi Cable Shamsur Rehman alias Abdul Khaliq was abducted six days back from the junk market when he refused to pay extortion.
Sources informed that extortionists had demanded over Rs 100 million extortion from him but he had refused to pay it. However, he was released Friday on payment of over Rs 10.5 million ransom. SP Anti-Violent Crime Cell Usman Ghani said that Rehman had not paid any single penny to the extortionists. He claimed that extortionists had released him due to constant pressure exerted through targeted operation.
