Seven militants killed in Kurram infighting
SADDA: Seven militants were killed and one sustained injuries in a clash between two rival groups in central part of Kurram Agency on Friday, official and tribal sources said.
The sources said the militants affiliated with the Mulla Toofan group, which is affiliated to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ambushed the fighters of Quwat Khan group near Chappar area when they were on way from Takhta.
The sources said that the Quwat Khan group operating in Parachamkani area was opposed to the TTP led by Hakimullah Mahsud and other militant groups trying to extend their influence to Parachamkani.
The sources said that six militants of the Quwat Khan group were killed and two others sustained injuries in the ensuing gun battle. One of the injured militants later succumbed to his injuries.
The dead were identified as Jamil, Mehmood, Nawab, Yaseen, Farooq, Abdul Amin and Hamesh Gul while Younus Khalis was injured in the clash.
