Bahawalnagar: Double murder enrages relatives
BAHAWALNAGAR: Relatives of a couple bumped off by six armed men in the early hours of Sunday at 12 Gujyani here, staged a protest at main Fowara chowk against the police’s way of interrogation regarding a case registration.
The six armed men climbed over the wall of the house of a landlord’s tenant – Ghulam Hussain – and opened fire on the family members. Resultantly, Ghulam Hussain and his wife Tasleem died on the spot while Tasleem ‘s brothers Yasin and Abbas suffered serious injuries.
The villagers after hearing the firing rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to THQ Chistian Hospital. Later, they were referred to BVH Bahawalpur due to critical condition. The actual cause of the murders has not been ascertained so far. However the police expressed its suspicion that it might be an outcome of old enmity but reality will come into the light after a thorough probe.
The tragic incident created panic in the village. Meanwhile, the deceased relatives rejected the police way of interrogation and stage demonstration by placing dead bodies on the chowk and left traffic out of gear by setting tyres on fire. Doctors of the THQ have refused to conduct autopsy before the registration of the case.
Moreover, a property dispute claimed one life and left three injured in precinct of Donga Bonga police station on Saturday evening. Eleven armed persons allegedly including Maqsood, Shafquat, Shamshad stormed into the courtyard of one Allah Ditta of Rimwali. They opened fire on the family and killed Allah Ditta on the spot while left his three relatives Khalid Hakim and Hassan seriously injured.
Later, the accused waving their arms shouted that they had taught a lesson of what they said a fake litigation to the deceased. Police registered the case against 16 accused on the complaint of the deceased brother Aslam.
