Lahore: Junk dealer murdered
LAHORE: The decaying body of a 40-year-old junk dealer, who was abducted for Rs1 million ransom from Green Town four days ago, was found in a drain in Township on Sunday.
Green Town SHO Amir Saleem said Muhammad Akram, of Sector 1-D-II, was abducted by unidentified men who later demanded Rs1 million ransom from his family.
He said the kidnappers, however, strangled the father of four and threw his body in the drain. Apparently, the body was two to three days old, he added.
Green Town DSP Muhammad Mansha said that it appeared that Akram was kidnapped and murdered for some other reasons than ransom.
