Lahore: Crackdown on land grabbers
Lahore: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has ordered the police to launch an effective crackdown on land grabbers in the provincial metropolis.
Chairing a meeting held in connection with action against land grabbers on Monday, the CCPO said that in the ongoing campaign against land grabbers, 271 cases had been registered so far whereas 958 culprits had been arrested. He said that Lahore was to be transformed into a city where no powerful person could usurp the property of any weak person. He warned that strict action would also be taken against the SHOs concerned.
Meanwhile, noted Artist Qamar Pervez on Monday called on CCPO Ahmad Raza Tahir and presented him a beautiful hand-made portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The CCPO thanked the artist for the precious gift and said that artists were treasure of society. He said the portrait would be a valuable addition to the CCPO Office.
