3 bikes, two cars and a tractor lifted from Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Although police stations avoid registering street crime offences, especially vehicle theft cases, but seven cases of vehicle-lifting were reported in different police stations of the district.
A tractor, three motorbikes, two cars and a Suzuki pickup were among the stolen vehicles, a police spokesman said. Two cars (a Toyota Corolla bearing registration number LA-9160 and a Suzuki Alto (RIY-892) were lifted from Khayaban-e-Sir Syed-II and Asghar Mall Scheme, falling in the jurisdiction of Banni Police Station. While three motorbikes were stolen from various areas of the city including (RIN-926) from Rashid Minhas Shaheed Camp (Waris Khan Police Station), (RIF-8472) from Chandni Chawk (New Town) and (RIL-9232) from Dhoke Mustaqim (Westridge). And a carjacking gang took away a Suzuki Pick UP (IDS-9262) from Gulzar-e-Qaed (Airport) and a tractor bearing registration number (RLA-1552) from Kotli (Mandra). In another offence, a gang of three gunmen hit a mobile shop at Ganjmandi Road (City police station) and looted Rs175,000 in cash, 400 scratch cards and 500 SIMs after holding the shopkeeper at gunpoint.
