Wana: 7 foreigners among 14 militants held
WANA: Backed by gunship helicopters, Pakistani security forces Tuesday morning conducted a search operation and arrested 14 militants including seven foreigners from the Wocha Khwar area near Wana in South Waziristan near the Afghan border.
Security officials and tribal sources said the soldiers also recovered two trucks loaded with explosives and heavy weapons that were supposed to be transported to Karachi, Punjab and Balochistan. Sources said the terrorists were hiding in a fort-like compound outside Wana, the main town of South Waziristan. Military authorities said 14 militants, seven of them foreigners, two Punjabi and five Mehsud tribal insurgents, were taken into custody from the compound.
