Islamabad: Gang of dacoits busted
Islamabad: The Shahzad Town Police on Wednesday busted an inter-provincial gang involved in dacoities and street crimes besides recovering weapons, a bike and snatched mobile phones from their possession, a police spokesman said.
Following the complaints of various dacoity victims, SP (Rural) Faisal Bashir Memon, under the supervision of DSP Khursheed Khan, constituted a special team, including SHO Shehzad Town Police Station Yunus Gujar, to arrest culprits involved in these crime incidents.
The team arrested four criminals when they were planning to strike in Pindorian. The arrested men were identified as Hameedullah, son of Abdul Raheem, resident of Dhoke Najju, Rawalpindi; Nadeem, a resident of Zia Masjid area, Islamabad; Farrukh Iftikhar, son of Iftikhar, resident of Kotli Sattian, Rawalpindi; Sajid Zaman, son of Mir Zaman, resident of Pindorian, Islamabad.
They confessed their involvement in several dacoities in various areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and snatching of mobiles phones from women and other people. The police team also recovered three pistols, a motorbike used in various crime incidents and five mobile phones from their possession.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ishaq of the Bhara Kahu Police Station nabbed Abdullah for having a Kalashnikov and 10 rounds. The Shalimar Police apprehended Sadiq after recovery of 10 cans of beer from him. The Sabzi Mandi Police arrested Muhammad Zahid for having a 30-bore pistol, while the Shehzad Town Police nabbed Tahir Mehmud for having a 30–bore pistol.
