Islamabad: Police arrest three ‘kidnappers’
ISLAMABAD: Sabzi Mandi police have arrested three kidnappers allegedly involved in abducting a trader and also recovered ransom money from their possession.
According to sources, a trader of fruit market Aftab Muhammad Abassi was abducted at gunpoint from Sector I-11/4 and was taken away to a rural area of Peepal, Katlang Police Station, District Mardan. The kidnappers demanded ransom amount Rs 7.2 million from the family of Abassi. Finally, the kidnappers agreed to over Rs. 2 million and got this amount from his family.
Addressing a press conference here Thursday, Industrial Area SP Ishaq Warraich said that Islamabad IGP Bani Amin Khan assigned him the task to ensure arrest of perpetrators of the act. To accomplish this task, a special team under his own supervision including DSP Industrial Area Muhammad Ashraf Shah, SHO Sabzi Mandi Inspector Abdul Majeed, Sub-Inspectors Asjad Mehmud, Ishaq and others was constituted which investigated the case by using all available resources and succeeded to arrest three persons involved in this kidnapping incident and also recovered Rs 0.57 million as well as a bike from their possession.
