Karachi: 9 criminals, including target killer, nabbed
KARACHI: Sindh Police claimed to have arrested nine people, including a target killer, during raids at different areas of the metropolis on Thursday.
Crime Investigation Department (CID) claimed to have apprehended a target killer involved in Korangi Chakra Goth riots after an encounter from Korangi area. SSP Fayyaz Khan said police party conducted raid in Korangi and arrested Sikander alias Ali after an encounter. He said that the accused was involved in Korangi Chakra Goth riots, which claimed three lives leaving several vehicles torched in Zaman Town. “Sikander belongs to a political party and a case (433/11) was already registered against him at Zaman Town police station”, said the SSP.
The Inquiry Officer of the case Chaudhary Manzoor informed that the accused was nominated under Section 302, 147,148, 435, 436, 324 and 7 ATA and further investigation is underway.
Separately, Mauripur Police claimed to have arrested two extortionists from Mauripur Greeks. According to police, they conducted a raid at Mauripur Greeks and arrested Kamran and Farman, recovering TT pistols from their possession. They said that the accused belonged to an extortionist group and demanded Rs 0.2 million from Abdul Qayyum, an accountant of Keamari town office.
Police also conducted a raid at Liaquatabad No 4 and arrested Kashif alias Darzi, recovering three Kalashnikoves, two repeaters and two hand grenade from his possession. Sources said he was involved in several notorious cases. Further investigation is underway.
In separate raids, Khawaja Ajmair Nagri and Garden police arrested five criminals namely Shahzad, Amin, Samad and Arif and recovered five TT pistols and several rounds from their possessions.
