Karachi: ATC remands two suspected target killers into police custody
Karachi: Administrative Judge of the Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATC) remanded two suspects allegedly involved in target killings in police custody till September 30.
The two suspects, Sohail alias Kala Munna and Kashif Burger were produced before the AJ for obtaining their remand in connection with as many as 37 cases of murder, attempt to murder, possessing illegal weapons and explosive substances.
The suspects were produced before the court following directions from the judicial magistrates, which said that remand of suspects in target killing cases should be obtained from the AJ of the ATCs.
The CID investigation officer submitted that Sohail and Kashif were arrested on September 16 after a shootout and during interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in murder and attempt to murder cases registered at the Super Market, Liaquatabad, Sharifabad, PIB Colony and Aziz Bhatti police stations.
In another case, the AJ remanded a suspect Sikandar, who is facing murder, arson, attempt to murder and terrorism charges in Zaman Town police custody for one week.
Sikandar along with Kamran alias Madhori, Sohail Arain, Mohsin Naeem, Subhan, Abul Bashar, Iftikhar and Irfan Haider were arrested by the police from the Chakra Goth area on charges of attacking a house belonging to Sindh Dost Party’s leader and killing two of his relatives.
