2 shot dead; two bodies found
Karachi: Two people were shot dead and the bullet-riddled bodies of as many people were recovered from different parts of the city on Saturday.
Naeem Goli, 45, was fired upon and seriously injured allegedly by his friend, Sub- Inspector (SI) Ahmed Iqbal, posted in the Motorway police, after both exchanged hot words while having dinner in the Boat Basin police area.
His friends took him to a private hospital in a critical condition, where he breathed his last. His body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities.
Later, the Boat Basin police arrested SI Ahmed Iqbal and lodged an FIR against him. Zarmeed Khan, 25, was shot dead outside his residence by unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle near Gulzar Colony in the Korangi Industrial Area police limits.
Upon hearing the gunshots, area people rushed to the spot and informed the police about the incident. His body was shifted to the JPMC for a post-mortem. According to the police, Khan was a criminal and killed over some personal enmity.
Meanwhile, the decomposed and bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man of about 35 years of age was found on the Lyari River bed in the Pak Colony police area.
Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities, where the MLO said that three bullets hit the man, whose body also bore torture marks.
Police said that the man had been kidnapped by unidentified criminals, who later tortured him to death and dumped his body.
The bullet-riddled body of another unidentified man of about 45 years age was found in the Mawash Goth graveyard in Mochko police area. One of the gravediggers saw the body and informed the police.
