Dacoits kill youth on resistance in Satukatla
LAHORE: A 30-year-old youth was shot dead when he offered resistance during a dacoity bid in Satukatla police precincts on Sunday night.
Police concerned, however, have said the deceased was killed over old enmity. An unidentified youth was standing nearby G-Block near PIA Colony in Satukatla when a few unknown dacoits intercepted him and held him on gunpoint. “The dacoits opened fire and bullets pierced into his body.
Resultantly, he fell down unconsciously and was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Later, police lodged an FIR (1238/11) under Section 302 against unidentified persons with no arrest so far.
Earlier, announcements were made in local mosques but no one claimed to own the body. The elders of the area believed the youth was gunned down but police even remaining unaware about the whereabouts and identity of the accused have lodged a murder case. The body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, two people were gunned down over different reasons whereas a 50-year-old woman was knocked down by a speeding vehicle in separate incidents of the City on Sunday.
The 44-year-old Engineering Factory Manager Rana Ishtiaq, father of six, was sitting in his office in Shafiqabad police limits when two motorcyclists approached him and opened straight bullets. “The killers managed to flee from the crime scene shortly, leaving Rana in a pool of blood. We rushed him to a local hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead,” a factory worker said. He said the deceased had been working in aforesaid electric switch making engineering factory for the last several months. Police investigators, however, said the deceased intended to purchase a piece of land situated near his home but someone (perhaps the accused) rebuked him from doing so. “Probably, the same people are behind this gruesome incident but we are probing into the matter,” an on duty police officer said. Later, police removed the body to the City morgue for autopsy whereas a case has been lodged against unidentified accused with no arrest till filing of this report.
Earlier, 25-year-old unidentified youth was killed by unknown accused under mysterious circumstances in Kahna Area late on Saturday. Police found the decomposed body from a drain near Dhop Sari area. Locals informed police about the body floating in the drain. “The incident seemed the outcome of any old enmity but nothing could be established at this stage of investigation,” a senior police officer said, adding the police are waiting for an autopsy to ascertain the main reason of this death. He said numerous announcements were made in nearby mosques but none of the citizens claimed to own the body.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman was crushed to death in Shadman Police Area the same day. She was crossing the road when a speeding car hit her from the rear side, leaving her severely injured on the spot.
The woman, however, was shifted to the Services Hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead. Police concerned have lodged an FIR against unidentified car driver with no arrest so far.
Later, the body of the body of youth namely Rizwan, who was gunned down by 16-year-old Fiaz in outskirts of sessions court was handed over to the bereave family on Sunday. The deceased shot dead the parents of Fiaz some seven months back.
On Saturday, when Rizwan was being released on bail Fiaz shot him dead on the spot. Police, however, arrested the accused from the crime scene. “I did not believe in justice, so I decided to take my revenge on the spot,” a senior police officer quoted Fiaz as having said.
