Police arrests 6,408 proclaimed offenders during last four months
LAHORE: The Lahore Police has arrested 6,408 proclaimed offenders and 4,212 court absconders during the last four months. According to details, Lahore Police launched a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, under which 6,408 offenders and 4,212 absconders were arrested. From the offenders, 185 were wanted in cases of murder, 160 in cases of attempted murder, 196 in cases of dacoity, 1,124 in cases of robbery and theft and 4,743 in other cases.
During the same period, Lahore Police also arrested 4,212 court absconders. From them, 17 were wanted in cases of murder, 40 in cases of attempted murder, 13 in cases of dacoity, 97 in cases of robbery, 251 in cases of theft and 3,794 in other cases. CCPO Ahmad Raza Tahir said that the crackdown launched in order to rid the society of crime and criminal elements should be further intensified. He said that every officer of the Lahore Police should be determined to face crime-related challenges at all times. He said that the Lahore Police had a one-point agenda of eradicating, eliminating and uprooting the scourge of crime and vanquishing gangs involved in heinous acts.
