Rawalpindi: Expatriates deprived of cash, gold ornaments
Rawalpindi: A gang of robbers, in the guise of police officials, looted a family coming from Norway at Adhra Road in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar Police Station depriving them of local and foreign currency and 25 tolas of gold ornaments to the tune of over Rs2 million, police said.
Abdul Munir lodged a complaint with the RA Bazaar Police Station that he was going to his house, along with his family, after arriving from Norway when two men, riding a car, intercepted them. They introduced themselves as personnel of the Special Branch and asked them for search. They collected 100,000 Norwegian kroner, Rs37,000, 25 tolas of gold ornaments and fled from the scene.
