Karachi: 2,500kgs of hashish seized
Karachi: The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) on Tuesday arrested three drug traffickers and seized 2,500 kilograms of hashish from them.
After receiving a tip-off that some drug peddlers were trying to smuggle a huge quantity of drug from upcountry to Karachi by road and then to smuggle it abroad, a PCG team started checking vehicles on the RCD Highway near at the coastal area at Nalient near Gwadar.
The team saw a Hino truck carrying potatoes, and signalled the driver to stop, but the driver sped away. The PCG officers chased the vehicle, succeeded in intercepting it and caught the suspects. During a search of the vehicle, they recovered 2,500 kilograms of hashish. The PCG did not disclose the names of the arrested drug peddlers.
