Wanted terror accused arrested in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Secretariat Police have arrested a government official involved in terrorist activities, police sources said. Earlier, the Aabpara Police had recovered suicide jacket and firearms from his House in G-6/1-1 during a raid in last week of August this year but the suspect managed to escape from the scene along with his brother, the police said.
Station house officer (SHO) Hakam Ali Khan, when contacted by this scribe, confirmed the report saying that Sardar Ali Khattak was a government employee and was Naib Qasid with the Ministry of Finance. He said that he was wanted to the Islamabad Police in terrorist activities. He said that he was involved in Bhara Kahu IED kind of ‘timed device’ blast exploded on June 20, 2011.
The SHO said that the police received information from intelligence sources that Sardar Ali Khattak was found roaming at Margalla Hills to hit any target. He said that a team was sent to the tip-off site which arrested the suspect. He said that three-day physical remand of the accused has been obtained from the court of law.
SHO (Aabpara) Khalid Awan, when contacted for his comments, said that a police party conducted a raid at the house of Sardar Ali Khattak in G-6/1-1 on the information provided by the intelligence agencies and recovered a suicide jacket and a pistol from his house but he managed to escape from the house along with his brother Sher Ali Khattak. The SHO told ‘The News’ that both the brothers were running a flower shop in flower market near Jinnah Super Market.
