House looted in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: In one of the big dacoity incident in the Kocha Dheri Pir Sabak area of Nowshera district, armed dacoits decamped with gold, cash and other valuables in the small hours of Thursday, sources said.
Reporting to the police, the head of the family Muhammad Zaman, a contractor, said 15 to 20 armed men broke into his house. He said some scaled the boundary wall of the house and opened the central gates of the house for others to let them in.
He said they held hostages his father, brothers, women and children in the house at gunpoint and deprived them of gold worth Rs1.5 million, Rs175,000 cash, four cellular phones, three pistols and two rifles including Kalashnikov rifle and escaped.
Muhammad Zaman told the police that three years ago, unknown persons also robbed his house of valuables and cash. He said the dacoits after entering his house and holding his family hostage, started scanning the whole house while some of their accomplices were on the rooftop and others outside were providing those inside backup. The police neither registered first information report in the incident nor arrested any person, the sources said.
