LAHORE: A 28-year-old security guard was gunned down by a colleague over monetary dispute. The incident took place in EME Housing Society, in Chuhang police precincts, in the wee hours of Thursday. In unrelated incidents, two other persons sustained multiple bullet injuries in different areas on the same day.
Muhammad Asif, a resident of J-Town, on the Multan Road, and a group comprising Zeshan, Nomi and Sikander alias Ram Janey enjoyed friendly ties. “They would often borrow and lend money from one another in time of need,” the police said.
Around 1:30am Thursday, Asif visited Zeshan and demanded his money back. Reportedly, Zeshan refused to obey him. During the ensuing exchange of harsh words, Zeshan shot Asif dead. “Only one bullet was fired, which pierced through the head of Asif, He died on the spot,” a senior police officer said, adding the accused managed to flee. Further investigations are underway.
