Lahore: Wardens take shelter in dengue to secure leaves
LAHORE: The Lower Mall police have booked and arrested two traffic wardens on the charges of producing bogus medical documents of local hospitals and claiming to be affected by the dengue fever in order to secure long leave.
The police have registered a case under section 420/468/461 of PPC and 155/C of Police Order 2002 against a warden namely Arshad Mahmood of Township traffic sector and Kamran Yousaf of Old Airport traffic sector.
Police investigators said Arshad Mahmood produced several medical certificate of the Jinnah Hospital and Kamran Yousaf had also couple of certificate of the Services Hospital. Informed sources said the CTO SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin doubted over the authenticity of the certificates and sent to concerned hospitals for verification. “The hospitals have declared the certificates as fake,” they added.
Later, following special direction of the CTO, the Lower Mall police have lodged a case against them. Both of the wardens have also been arrested. Further investigations are underway.
