Levies soldier gets 17-year jail for killing driver
LANDI KOTAL: The Jamrud political administration sentenced a Levies soldier to 17 years in prison and fined him Rs0.6 million for killing a truck driver at Prangsum checkpoint about five months ago, sources said on Thursday. The sources said Shah Faisal Afridi had shot dead truck driver Nabeedullah Shinwari at the checkpoint on April 29, 2011 after the latter reportedly refused to pay him Rs10 as ‘bribe’.
The Levies soldier was arrested on the spot and imprisoned in the Jamrud lockup. After five-month trial in Jamrud subdivision of Khyber Agency, Shah Faisl was awarded 17-year imprisonment along with Rs0.6 million fine.
