Islamabad: 40 suspects arrested during search operation in capital
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Friday arrested 48 persons, including 40 suspects, during a search operation and seized 4.5 kilograms of hashish, 173 bottles of liquor, two rifles and one vehicle from them, said spokesman for police.
Various police teams conducted the search operation in the area of Shehzad Town and succeeded in nabbing 40 suspects from slum areas, under construction buildings and other areas. The suspects could not justify their stay there and produce documents for their identification, said the spokesman.
Kohsar police arrested two alleged bootleggers Ehsan Masih and Peter Masih and seized 60 bottles of liquor from their possession. Kohsar police station also arrested Tariq Gul and Aamir Saleem and seized 106 bottles of liquor while Margallah police arrested Arif Masih and seized seven bottles of liquor from him.
Tarnol police arrested two alleged drug-pushers identified as Hameed Khan and Seema Bibi. Police seized 4.5 kilograms of hashish from their possession. Sabzi Manid police nabbed Malik Ashraf for having 12 bore gun while Shehzad Town arrested Farooq for having 7 MM rifle.
Industrial area police arrested Tariq Mehmud for having a stolen pick-up (QF-343). Police have registered separate cases against these persons under relevant sections and started further investigation.
