Karachi: Man shot dead by ‘robbers’
KARACHI: A man was killed in a Gulshan-i-Iqbal locality by armed bandits when he tried to speed away after seeing them, police said. A duty officer at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station said that two friends — 22-year-old Arsalan Mubashir and Mohammad Arsalan — were passing through the Abul Hasan Ispahani Road in their car when three suspected bandits riding a motorcycle attempted to stop them.
As they tried to doge the suspects and attempted to speed away, the suspects fired shots at the car and one of the bullets hit Arsalan Mubashir.
The armed men escaped after firing, he said, adding that the victim was rushed to a private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The police said that the victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of the car while Mohammad was driving the car. An FIR pertaining to the incident was yet to be lodged at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station as the victim’s family told the police that they would lodge the FIR following the funeral of the young man.
