Islamabad: Car thief among 12 arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Capital police arrested 12 outlaws including a notorious car thief from different areas of the city and recovered weapons, narcotics and two stolen vehicles from them, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
He said that Sihala police arrested the alleged car thief, Murad Ali — who was also the receiver of stolen cars — from T- Cross Rawat.
Policemen deployed at a checkpoint at T-Cross spotted a dubious vehicle and tried to intercept it, but its driver sped the vehicle away. However, the vehicle was intercepted after a brief chase, which led in the arrest of one on-board, while two others succeeded to escape.
During interrogation the arrestee, a resident of Swabi, was identified as a car thief and receiver of stolen cars. The police recovered two forged CNICs and a driving license from him with different names but same photos.
Further investigation was in progress and another police team was constituted to arrest his accomplices who were on the run. Murad Ali had earlier faced five-year imprisonment and was challaned in 11 different cases including car-theft in the twin cities.
Meanwhile, the Margalla police also arrested an auto-thief, Nisar Ahmed, red-handed and recovered a motorcycle LEP-3265 from him. During investigation he confessed to have stolen the vehicle from sector G-9.
The Crime Investigation Agency arrested an alleged robber and recovered a Kalashnikov with 10 rounds from him. Likewise, the Sabzi Mandi police arrested two persons and recovered a 44-bore rifle and 510grams of hashish from them. Similarly, the
Golra police arrested two persons and recovered two pistols from them, while the Industrial Area police nabbed a man for his alleged involvement in filling LPG cylinders, illegally.
Moreover, four persons, including two women were arrested from F-8/3 for their alleged involvement in immoral activity by Margalla police.
