Lahore: Retired bank VP among 2 gunned down by dacoits
LAHORE: Two persons including a retired bank Vice President were gunned down in what the police sources claimed ‘resistance on dacoity bids’ in different parts of the City on Monday.
According to details, the fruit-chart seller Nadeem, son of Muhammad Younas and a resident of T-2, Abbu Bakar Siddiqui Colony, was returning home on foot at around 1:00am on Monday in Sandha police area. Three dacoits who were riding a motorbike intercepted him and held him hostage at gunpoint. “They snatched his cell phone, cash, and other valuables and killed him on resistance, a policeman said.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old Assistant Vice President of a local bank, namely Shabbir Hussain Abbas, a resident of Faisal Street, Ichhra, was travelling on his motorbike (LOY/8340) in Gulshan Ravi police area around 2:00am. “A police constable of Gulshan Ravi arrived at our home and told us that someone had killed our daddy in Post Office Street,” the victim’s daughters said.
A senior police officer said apparently it seemed he was gunned down over enmity as some cash, a wrist watch and his cell phone were in the dead man’s pocket. Police investigators, however, said the deceased was running a property dispute in Ichhra.
