3 carjackers held, four cars recovered
Islamabad: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) have recovered four stolen cars and arrested three car lifters, the NH&MP said.
A tracker company from Lahore informed Motorway Police that a Suzuki Cultus (LES-2952) was stolen from Lahore, and requested for help to recover it. The Motorway Police officers observed the said car on GT Road in the area of Okara and succeeded to stop the said car through commando action and arrested a car lifter identified as Muhammad Nazir son of Shabir Ahmed belonging to Lahore.
In the other incident, Lahore Police informed the Motorway Police that a white colour Corolla car (LZY-39), model 2005 was snatched on gunpoint by some unknown culprits from Lahore and requested for help. On this information all the patrolling vehicles of NH&MP were alerted, and after few minutes the NH&MP briefing Lady Patrolling Officer Adeela Mariam saw the said car on exit point of Sheikhupura Toll Plaza, and called the commando squad and succeeded to stop the said car and arrested two car lifters namely Shahbaz s/o Nawab r/o Kasur and Fareed s/o Deen Muhammad r/o Narowal.
However, on search, an original Registration book and a number plate of the vehicle were also recovered from the vehicle. Rawalpindi Police informed the Motorway Police that a black Honda civic (IDH-1397), Model 2006 was stolen from the area of Sadiqabad Police Station Rawalpindi and requested for help to recover it. NH&MP Officers saw the said car on Motorway (M-1) near Rashkai, they signalled to stop it, but the driver of the car instead of stopping, tried to speed away. However, Motorway Police officers, stopped it after some distance, but the driver managed to escape by crossing the fence of the motorway. The Motorway Police took the car in to their custody.
Sheikhupura Police informed the Motorway Police that a Honda Civic car (LXF-3540) has been stolen and requested for help. NH&MP officers saw the said car on Motorway (M-2) near Kalarkahar, they signalled to stop it, but the driver of the car instead of stopping, tried to speed away. However, Motorway Police officers, stopped it at some distance and succeeded to flee away by crossing the fence of Motorway at night. The Motorway Police took the car in to their custody. The Motorway Police informed the concerned local police and the owners of each incident about all these vehicles. Later on, the Motorway Police handed over the arrested culprits along with the recovered vehicles in the presence of the owners of the vehicles to the concerned police stations for further action.
