Rs2m demanded for kid’s release
TAKHTBHAI: An amount of Rs2 million was demanded by the kidnappers for safe release of a minor kidnapped a day earlier from Sharifabad area in Takhtbhai tehsil, sources said on Tuesday.
Huzaifa, a nursery class student in the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Army School, was on way back to his home from school along with his seven-year-old sister Waresha when unidentified bike riders abducted him.
The kidnappers contacted the father of the boy, named Zahid, a clerk at the Chakdarrra University in Malakand, through a telephone call and asked him to arrange Rs2 million for securing his safe release.
Meanwhile, residents of the area led by the general secretary of the traders union in Takhtbhai held a meeting with the local elders and youth organizations, giving a three-day deadline to the administration to recover the boy safe and sound. They said if the administration failed to recover Huzaifa, they would stage a sit-in at the main Malakand Road for an indefinite period.
