Theft charges: DSP among 38 cops booked on court order
JHANG: On the order of the additional sessions judge, the Kotwali police have registered a case against 38 policemen, including a DSP, for allegedly stealing Rs 700,000 from a private company during a raid.
Manager Ghulam Raza, in an application Additional Sessions Judge Akram Sheikh, stated that 38 policemen, including former City DSP Rana Arshad, Sadr SHO Waheed Shah, Rescue 15 In-charge Muhammad Arif, SI Zawar Hussain, SI Ragib Ali and ASI Abdul Shakoor, raided his office and destroyed the office equipment. He alleged that the policemen also took away Rs 700,000 from the cupboard besides arresting Rajab Ali, accountant of the office. He said that later he approached the senior police officers who adopted rude behaviour towards him to hush the matter up. The judge ordered to register the case.
