Lahore: POs gun down man, injure his friends
LAHORE: A 30-year-old man was gunned down by armed POs over old enmity while his two close friends suffered multiple bullet injuries during crossfire in Shahdara police precincts on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Haider Butt of Chaman Colony. Earlier, two brothers of Haider Butt namely Khurram Butt and Imran Butt have already been killed by the same rival party some six month back. The rival group is led by two POs including Ali Raza and Riasat. According to fresh developments, the deceased Haider along with his friends, yet to be identified, were going somewhere while driving a car but when they reached on Shahdara Chowk near main mosque adjacent to Rauf Marriage Hall, two armed members of the rival party namely Riasat and Ali Raza opened indiscriminate bullets on the car. “Haider Butt was driving the car at the time of incident. Several bullets pierced into his body whereas his friends also received severe injuries,” a Sub-Inspector Aleem Khan said. He said seconds after the incident the accused fled the scene while the injured men were shifted to the Mayo Hospital where the doctors pronounced Haider Butt as dead. The condition of others two were told critical till filing of this report. Later, the body of the deceased was removed to the City morgue.
