Karachi: ‘Muttahida man’ killed in PIB
KARACHI: A political activist was killed within the remit of the PIB police station in the early hours of Thursday, police said.
The police said that the killing took place at the main bazaar locality of PIB Colony where Kamran Ganchi, son of Abdul
Ghaffar, was attacked by gunmen riding a motorcycle while he was sitting outside his burger shop after business hours.
The victim was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on the way.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement claimed that Mr Ganchi was its worker and belonged to the party’s unit No 57.
The police said he was father of three. Tension gripped the locality when his funeral prayers took place in the afternoon.
The police also quoted his family members as saying that the deceased did not have enmity with anyone.
No FIR of the incident was registered at the PIB police station till late Thursday, a duty officer confirmed.
