Karachi: ‘Killer’ of 13 MQM activists arrested
KARACHI: The Crime Branch-I and II on Friday arrested three political activists allegedly involved in 18 cases of targeted killings.
The SSP of Crime Branch-I, Farooq Ahmed Awan, told The News that on a tip-off, a police party raided a house in the Frontier Colony in the Orangi Town police jurisdiction and arrested Naveed Rehman and recovered a TT pistol and number of bullets from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had killed at least 13 activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The Crime Branch police registered a case and handed the accused over to the Orangi Town police for further investigations.
Meanwhile, a police party of the Crime Branch-II, acting on a tip-off, raided a house in the Landhi police limits, arrested Anwer Fahran and Muhammad Ali and recovered two TT pistols from their possession.
The accused admitted having killed at least five people and torched six vehicles. The accused also admitted having killed the owner of a local hotel and his friend in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police area.
