Islamabad: Dacoits, muggers and carjackers have a field day
Islamabad: Dacoits, muggers and carjackers in eight hits took away gold ornaments, cash and vehicles worth over Rs5 million, police said.
Four gunmen entered the house of Haider Ali located in Muslim Town and looted Rs530,000 in cash and 12 tolas of gold ornaments after making hostage to the family members at gunpoint including women and minors. Five gangsters looted a house of Ali Hassan at Railway Road and took away Rs800,000 in cash and 9 tolas of gold ornaments.
Bike-riding muggers held a person, Azmat Hayat, at gunpoint at Tulsa Road as he came out of his house and took away Rs13,000 and mobile phone.
While, 5 vehicles were stolen from Kamran Market in Cantonment Police Station area, a bike (RIL-5664) from District Courts (Civil Lines), Toyota Corolla (RI-4742) from Wah Cantonment, Toyota Corolla (LRA-6889) from City and Toyota Corolla (LXG-144) from B-Block, Satellite Town.
Meanwhile, the Westridge Police have arrested two alleged criminals including a ring leader of a gang involved in murders, dacoities and other criminal activities, police said. The police team comprising SHO Inspector Ch. Jamil, SI Ghulam Abbas, ASI Yasir and Irshad Shah, upon receiving information, conducted a raid on a hideout at Chakra Road and arrested a proclaimed offender, Sabar Hussain alias Sabra, son of Adalat Khan, resident of Oind Lati, Gujrat, wanted to Gujrat Police in three murder and dacoity charges with his aide Mohammad Munir belonged to Lahore Chang and recovered four Kalashnikovs and one 30-bore pistol from the hideout.
