Lahore: Dacoits make a rich weekend again
LAHORE: Dacoits on Saturday continued their looting spree, robbed two houses, looted couples and families at gunpoint on City roads, and made off with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 4.5 million from different parts of the provincial metropolis, police sources claimed.
Five dacoits equipped with automatic weapons barged into the residence (262-B) of Muhammad Izhar situated in Defense Housing Authority (DHA), the posh and highly-guarded areas. The robbers held up the family members at gunpoint, locked them inside a room and fled away after collecting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs three million. The Defense-B police have registered the case and are investigating.
A motorcyclist, Yasir, was coming back after withdrawing Rs 150,000 from a bank when two gunmen riding on a motorcycle intercepted him in Baghbanpura police area. The robbers held him up at gunpoint and snatched away the cash and his mobile phone. Two motorcyclists equipped with pistols forced their entry into the shop of Muhammad Hanif in the same police vicinity-Baghbanpura– and escaped after snatching Rs 25,000 and a cellular phone from the shopkeeper.
Muhammad Hassan told the police that three robbers stormed into the Post Office located in Liaqatabad police vicinity and snatched away cash and cellular phones worth Rs 21,000 at gunpoint. The police are investigating. A motorcyclist, Abuzar, was on his way home when two gunmen intercepted him in Millat Park police area. The robbers snatched away his motorcycle (LEP-1439) and mobile phone at gunpoint.
A vendor, Muhammad Riaz, said that he was on his way to the vegetable market on early Saturday when two gunmen riding on a motorcycle intercepted him in Ravi Road police area. He was deprived of Rs 61,000 at gunpoint. A car-rider, Muhammad Ashraf, along with his family was on his way home when two motorcyclists intercepted him near Shahdra More, in Shahdra police precincts. The robbers held up family members at gunpoint and snatched away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 110,000.
A motorcyclist, Muhammad Irfan, along with his wife was on his way home when two gunmen intercepted him in Faisal Town police vicinity. The robbers took out guns, held up the couple and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 40,000.
Two gunmen riding on a motorcycle intercepted Muhammad Nasir in Shera Kot police vicinity and escaped after collecting cash, a gold chain and cellular phone wroth Rs 72,000 at gunpoint.
Four robbers forced their entry into the house (No 7, Ali-Block) in Awan Town, the vicinity of Hanjarwal police. The robbers held up the family members, who were sleeping at that time, at gunpoint. The bandits collected, cash gold ornaments and even clothes worth Rs 225,000 and fled away without facing any resistance.
Muhammad Shafique told the police that he along with his wife was going to a nearby market when two gunmen intercepted them near Bagh Mochi Ladha. The gunmen deprived the couple of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 55,000. The Shafiqabad police have registered the case and are investigating. Two gunmen held up Faryal in Model Town police vicinity and escaped after collecting cash and valuables wroth Rs 70,000 from him at gunpoint.
Another motorcyclist, Maratab Ali, along with his wife was coming back after attending a marriage party when gunmen intercepted him in Liaqatabad police area.
