BANNU: At least 36 suspected persons were arrested in a joint search operation by the security forces and police in Bakakhel area of Frontier Region (FR) Bannu a day after rocket attack on the house of district police officer, a police official said on Monday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Azmat Ali Khan told the reporters that the security forces and police launched search operation in Bakakhel area in Frontier Region Bannu that continued for almost 24 hours. He said the law-enforcement agencies carried out door-to-door search and arrested 36 suspects who were shifted to an undisclosed location for an interrogation.
The militants fired three rocket shells on Saturday morning and one of shells hit the house of the DPO Sajjad Khan, killing Constable Afsar Ali. Two rocket shells landed in the pologround.
