Lahore: Wife, 4 kids held in stabbing case
LAHORE: Police investigators on Monday took into custody a woman and her four children in connection with the killing of her husband, said to be a drug addict, who was found stabbed to death near his residence in South Cantonment police area.
Police said that the man, later identified as Muhammad Fayyaz, was lying dead in a pool of blood alongside a road in Farooqia Colony as they reached the spot in the wee hours of Monday. Some passers-by spotted the dead body and contacted the police. The police had arrested the mother of four, Rubina Bibi, in connection with the brutal killing and was investigating. Police investigators said that there were visible bruises on the face of the woman, which indicated that she had a scuffle with the deceased. Police investigators also said that apparently it seemed that the woman along with her four kids stabbed her husband to death and threw his body in the area.
Local residents said that the woman had contracted marriage with the drug addict some ten years ago and four kids were from her first husband. However, the woman denied the murder charges stating that the deceased had a dispute with one Deena, her first husband. The police had removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and was investigating.
