Lahore: Spurious drugs seized, 10 arrested
LAHORE: Special squad of the Punjab Health Department on Tuesday recovered unregistered and substandard drugs worth millions of rupees during five raids in different areas of the City. The team sealed the premises and got 10 FIRs registered against the persons with the concerned police stations.
Chief Drug Inspector Moazzam Khan informed that the team recovered huge quantity of unregistered and spurious drugs during a raid at a factory inside Lohari Gate. The team also seized packing material and an FIR was registered against Muhammad Atif and Muhammad Ashfaq besides sealing the premises. Drug Inspectors raided another factory in Yousaf Park, Shahdara and recovered huge quantity of medicines without labels, loose tablets worth lakhs of rupees and arrested Muhammad Jamil.
The CID further informed that the health department team also raided at Medi Rose Pharma in Salamatpura and recovered Hyocine tablets, Vitamin C tablets in huge quantity and got registered FIR against Muhammad Fayyaz, Zeshan Niaz, Samiullah and Basit Hussain. He further told that drug inspectors also raided at Allegro Laboratories Harbanspura.
