Rangers arrest 31 suspects in Karachi
KARACHI: Thirty-one suspects were apprehended during last 24 hours from different areas of Karachi by Rangers on Tuesday, recovering several weapons from them.
According to the spokesman of Rangers Sindh Major Zaman, several suspects have been arrested for forcing traders to shut their shops whereas raids were conducted in many areas of the metropolis, including Bohri Bazaar and Orangi Town. Kalashnikovs, repeaters, rifles, pistols and 1,200 rounds of bullets were recovered from the arrested accused.
Earlier, a dozen men, including three target killers, were rounded up in raids in different parts of the city by the Rangers and Criminal Investigation Agency.
Police and Rangers have been involved in a various search operations in Karachi for target killers and militants in attempts to curb violence in the city. More than 1,000 people have been killed in violence in Karachi this year, including 100 in a single week in August.
