Lahore: Shopkeeper gunned down
LAHORE: Unidentified motorcyclists gunned down a 28-year-od shopkeeper here in Mughalpura area and fled away instantly, police said on Wednesday. Resident of main bazaar Ghaziabad, M Adnan, was running a store near Laal Pull, police investigators said.
The motives behind the daylight killing were yet to be established. However, the concerned SHO Shabbir Awan, told the reporters that the deceased used to bet cricket matches and he had monetary dispute with different parties, involved in cricket gambling.
Eyewitnesses told the police that two motorcyclists, yet to be unidentified so far, appeared outside the shop and opened straight fire at the shopkeeper. Father of a boy, Adnan, sustained multiple bullet wounds and fell on the ground while the attackers managed to escape from the crime scene within no time. Adnan was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The complainant, Muhammad Imran told the police that his brother, Adnan, had been receiving threatening calls for the last several days. The police have shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
